UV sterilizer use in aquaculture water treatment

Ultraviolet disinfection can solve problems such as algae reproduction and fish diseases in marine aquaculture

Aquaculture water UV sterilizer adopts drinking water PVC water supply pipe, the shell is resistant to ultraviolet radiation, hygienic, non-toxic, high-strength, acid-proof, alkali-proof, corrosion-proof, large in water treatment capacity, low in cost, and easy to install. Sterilize and inactivate the water body in the overflow pipeline by ultraviolet radiation.

Pipe-type PVC series UV sterilizers are sealed with PVC plastic pipes. The maximum distance between the flowing water and the UV lamp is no more than 2CM. The sterilizer is equipped with high-violet-transmitting quartz sleeves and high-stability UV lamp imported from the United States. exclusive ballasts, have constant output during the use period, and the lamp life is as high as 12,000 hours or more. The pressure resistance of the system is 0.5MPa, the protection level is IP68, no by-products, no residue, zero UV leakage, safe and reliable. For the working and sterilization principle of pipeline PVC series UV sterilizer, please refer to the working and sterilization principle of over-flow UV sterilizer. Seawater and freshwater aquaculture, fish hatcheries, fish ponds, swimming pools, hot springs, landscape water bodies, water algae removal and other fields of water disinfection.

The role of ultraviolet sterilizer in aquaculture

In the field of aquaculture and ornamental fish farming, the use of ultraviolet sterilization has been more and more widely used. In the field of aquaculture and aquaculture, two problems are usually encountered:

1. The reproduction of algae in water.

2. Fish diseases.

The vast majority of algae and bacteria and viruses that cause fish diseases can die and disintegrate within seconds under strong ultraviolet radiation, so these two problems can be properly solved by ultraviolet sterilization methods.

Under the irradiation of sunlight or artificial light sources, algae such as blue-green algae will proliferate in water. The algae consume oxygen and nutrients in the water, thereby affecting the normal growth of the aquarium. Ultraviolet rays can solve this problem. The aquaculture water is repeatedly circulated through a closed sterilizer equipped with an ultraviolet lamp, and the algae in the water will disintegrate and die under the strong UVC ultraviolet radiation, and reorganize into large molecular chains, which can finally be filtered by the filter system.

In this reaction process, the water flow rate and the power selection of the germicidal lamp are very important. In summer, the temperature is high and the algae multiply rapidly. The water flow rate should not be too fast. The power of the ultraviolet lamp should be appropriately higher, and vice versa in winter. For example, a 36W quartz UV germicidal lamp can purify a pool with a capacity of 35000L.

If the water purification cannot be achieved, it is necessary to increase the power of ultraviolet rays, or increase the number of lamps, and at the same time, the flow rate of the water should be appropriate, and the flow rate should not be too fast. It is necessary to ensure the time for the algae in the water to receive ultraviolet radiation. In addition to algae problems, fish diseases are also a frequent problem in the aquaculture industry.

Ultraviolet light is very effective at killing bacteria in water that cause fish diseases, such as Vitiligo, which can be killed within three seconds of UV exposure. Especially sometimes, some new fish are added to the pond, and these new fish are likely to bring new germs into the fish pond, or the fish pond needs to be changed, and there may be germs in the new water. In these cases, the UV system must sterilize the water body. The method is the same as the above-mentioned treatment of algae. The water is repeatedly circulated through the sterilizer equipped with the ultraviolet lamp. Pay attention to ensure that the water is exposed to ultraviolet radiation for no less than 3 seconds, otherwise the sterilization effect will be affected. Likewise, the power and number of UV lamps can be selected according to the size of the water body and ambient temperature conditions. After UV sterilization and purification, more than 99% of bacteria and viruses will be killed, so fish will rarely get sick, thereby increasing the production of aquaculture. For ornamental fish, clean and sterile water will make the fish more colorful.

The effect of ultraviolet sterilizer as a pond water purification is also related to the following aspects: the intensity of solar radiation, the depth of the pond, the plant coverage on the water surface, and the local temperature.

However, it should be noted that ultraviolet lamps only kill bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, and the removal of solid particles and inorganic substances must be completed by a filter system, so the water treatment in the field of aquaculture and aquarium should be combined by ultraviolet sterilization system and filter system. Finish.

Special reminder: If the UV sterilizer is used to remove green algae in the pond, the UV lamp can be used for one year. If it is used for pond sterilization, considering the attenuation of UV lamp radiation, in order to ensure the sterilization effect, it is recommended that users replace the UV lamp every 8 to 10 months.
